Clinical Psychologist located in Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY

Sara Zelmanovitz

I am a Clinical Psychology doctoral candidate at LIU Post, and I work with individuals with a variety of mental health challenges by integrating psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I believe each person is unique, and treatment should recognize that; therefore, I take an individualized, collaborative approach and conduct sessions based on my client’s specific needs and unique character.

I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, relationship difficulties, self-growth, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I am particularly passionate about helping those experiencing a health challenge, the loss of a loved one, or those in the perinatal period, and specifically, helping individuals who are experiencing the loss and grief that comes with pregnancy loss, infertility, or a traumatic birth experience.

I value giving my clients a warm space and the openness to be free with their feelings and process the challenges that life can bring. Sometimes our perspective and the way we view the world around us make all the difference in coping with life’s challenges. My goal is for my clients to gain clarity and strength, learning the right strategies to help them cope with their challenges. Ultimately, I hope to give my clients tools and awareness to experience the best parts of themselves so they can maximize the many beauties life has to offer.

I am now accepting clients for virtual sessions!
