My approach to psychotherapy prioritizes creating space to explore the triumphs, confusions and often shameful feelings of the past. Then, amid present-moment opportunities, setbacks, and crises, we work together to process the events and feelings that made you who you are today, and how we can untangle these experiences in order to enhance your relationships, work/life balance, and mitigate negative and distressing emotions.
Whether your goals are short-term or long-term (or perhaps you don't have concrete goals and that's ok too!) and no matter what you're dealing with, I bring a spirit of warmth, collaboration, radical acceptance, and an anti-oppressive lens so that we can frankly and thoughtfully explore what progress, safety, hope, and trust really look like for you.
I have experience working with a wide range of communities including but not limited to, trans and gender nonconforming, queer, non-monogamous, justice-involved, HIV+, sex working adults and young adults.
My specialties are life transitions, relationship goals, chronic pain and disability, intergenerational trauma, gender and sexuality, experiences of dissociation, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I integrate psychodynamic theory and developmental psychology as my foundation. We can then sprinkle in DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic techniques to engage the mind, body, and spirit so you can heal and grow at your own pace. I have also achieved Level 1 certification in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Together we can explore what works best for you to find a sense of ease and relief in moving forward on your healing journey.
