Chris Black, MHC Intern

My name is Chris, and I believe in the curative power of storytelling.

The act of telling our stories affords us insight, the holy grail of psychotherapy. While there is much healing to be had there, insight without proper support can leave us feeling even more stuck: “Where do I go from here?”

My practice exists as a humble space for you to feel supported in processing your lived experiences and relationships, exploring self-in-context, and making concrete goals to facilitate wellbeing and personal growth.

I welcome clients of any and all identities and backgrounds; a social justice perspective is integral to my practice. My theoretical orientation is trauma-informed and grounded in the deeper work of psychodynamic and narrative approaches, while also making room for us to discover the everyday benefits offered by cognitive-behavioral techniques and wellness tools (meditation, stretching, etc).

Amidst the chaos of modern living, life itself rarely feels linear; our work is to start to connect the dots to help you claim sole authorship over your story, and begin today to write the chapters of your life to come.

If you’ve gotten this far and are considering booking an appointment, congratulations: you’ve already taken the hardest step. I currently offer services at a discounted rate, and I can’t wait to work with you.

Let’s get started.
