Madison Houck, Adv Clinical Intern
I have a decade of experience cultivating relationships as a private yoga and meditation instructor and mental health support group leader. In session, I create an intentional space filled with warmth and security. We will uncover patterns in real time, which will lead to understanding, acceptance, action, and healing.
Challenges and stress are a fact of life. We’ll never be able to escape hardship, but we can give ourselves proper support and care throughout our lives to widen our window of tolerance under stress. My therapy practice aims to hold space for you in the good times and bad, so that you find moments of unshakable inner peace — despite what’s going on around you.
I specialize in work with adolescents and adults who live with: chronic stress, anxiety and depression, perfectionism and burnout, insecure attachment and codependency, dysfunctional families and childhood trauma, addiction and substance use disorders (self or loved ones).
I approach each session with curiosity, compassion, and a desire for connection, and I encourage the same from my clients. I integrate several psychotherapeutic modalities to treat the whole person. Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Attachment combined with somatic therapy and modern neuroscience give me and my client the ability to explore their inner and outer world from multiple perspectives. I have received Level 1 training with the Somatic Experiencing Institute, and have over 800 hours of training in EFT, IFS, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. I am graduating in May 2025 with an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College.
Currently under the supervision of Marissa Morales.
