Laura Levitt, LMSW
I believe the power to heal and grow is inherent in all people. As a therapist, I bring warmth, insight, and humor to my relationship with each client. I often receive feedback that clients feel deeply accepted by me, and that I provide a calming presence as we work through life's challenges together. I'll work with you not only to help you better understand yourself and your relationships, but also to help you become “unstuck” in areas of life that feel difficult or overwhelming.
I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and also love working with people exploring sexual and gender identity, navigating life transitions, and hoping to deepen the mind-body connection.
I approach my work integratively and use a variety of therapy models including psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, "parts work", mindfulness-based techniques, and somatic work. I am a graduate of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy’s two-year Integrated Trauma Training Program and continue to train with experts in trauma-focused therapies. No matter what brings you to therapy, I will bring not only my skills and knowledge, but also my heart to our work together.
