Jackie Voluz, LMSW

My approach to therapy aims to give some air to the triumphs, confusions, and shame of the past. Then, amid the present moment’s opportunities, setbacks, and crises, therapy becomes a way to make the space to breathe and develop your own vision of change. We find a path together that charts you towards momentum and expansiveness in your life. Your goals may be short-term or long-term. They may be a matter of clarifying practical objectives around academic and career achievement, or tackling daunting concepts like how to break intergenerational cycles of trauma. No matter what you're dealing with, I bring a spirit of collaboration, radical acceptance, and an anti-oppressive lens so that we can frankly and thoughtfully explore what safety, hope, trust, and progress really look like for you.

I pull from psychodynamic theory, developmental psychology, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic therapy practices to engage the mind, body, and spirit so you can heal and grow at your own pace. I am certified Level 1 in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

I have experience working with a wide range of people including low-income, trans and gender nonconforming, queer, non-monogamous, justice-involved, HIV+, and sex working adults and young adults on topics ranging from life stage transitions, relationship goals, chronic pain and disability, intimate partner and community violence, gender and sexuality, dissociation, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
