Laura Levitt, LMSW

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that the power to heal and grow is inherent in all people. As a therapist, I bring warmth, understanding and humor to my relationship with each client. I often receive feedback that I am easy to open up to and provide a calming presence. I will work with you not only to help you better understand yourself and your relationships, but also to help you become “unstuck” in areas of life that feel difficult or overwhelming.

I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault/harassment, injury, abuse and neglect. I also enjoy working with individuals navigating life transitions, exploring sexual and gender identity, coping with grief, and experiencing depression and anxiety.

I approach my work holistically and integratively and use a variety of therapy models including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (also called “parts work”), mindfulness-based techniques and somatic work. I am currently a candidate in the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy’s intensive postgraduate Integrated Trauma Training Program. No matter what brings you to therapy, I will bring not only my skills and knowledge, but also my heart to our work together.
